Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Engineering

Penn State Brandywine invites applications for a faculty position, Lecturer (Master's) or Assistant Teaching Professor (Doctoral) of Engineering, fixed-term multi-year appointment-36 weeks (with the option for renewal) to begin August 2020, or as negotiated. Responsibilities: Teach four courses (12 credits) each semester of introductory and intermediate undergraduate courses in the area of computer science and computer engineering using traditional, hybrid and online delivery methods. Teaching assignments include courses in digital systems, introductory and intermediate computer programming in C++ and Java, introduction to systems programming, and discrete math for computer science. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or weekend classes as needed. Working knowledge of a circuit simulation software, (e.g. MultiSim, PSPICE), and a hardware description language (e.g., Verilog, VHDL) is required. Other responsibilities include: participate in course, curriculum, and program development; advise students, supervise student projects, and provide career guidance; participate in campus, university, and community service activities; engage in activities to stay current in the discipline; commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment; advocate for diversity and values of inclusion. Qualifications: Ph.D., or Master's with 3+ years of related teaching or industry experience in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Electrical Engineering, by the start date is required.
