Applications are being accepted for the Chairperson and professor of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering within the College of Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University. The Chair and professor of the Industrial and Systems (ISE) Department is the academic leader and chief administrative officer of the Department. The successful candidate for the role will be a strategic thinking and dynamic leader who possesses a distinguished record of scholarly accomplishments and of leveraging academic, corporate, and government partnerships for the benefit of learning and discovery. The right candidate will have the vision and experiences necessary to position the ISE Department to be an academic and research leader. The successful candidate should be at the rank of full professor or have a record commensurate with being appointed at that rank.

(S)he is charged with leading the faculty and staff in advancing the department's research, teaching, and service mission; and must be committed to student learning and promoting a culture that values inclusiveness, diversity, and collaboration. The responsibilities of the Chair will include faculty recruitment and development, strengthening and expanding research programs, curriculum development and accreditation, strategic planning, promoting a high quality learning environment, fostering relationships with government agencies and the professional community; and serving as a key member of the Dean's leadership team.

Required Qualifications: Qualifications for the position include an earned doctorate in industrial engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related discipline; Proven experience and progressive accomplishments in systems engineering and/or industrial engineering; significant experience in ISE-relevant research and teaching; experience in leading and inspiring others, program development, and a collaborative spirit. The successful candidate must be a strong communicator who values students and is driven to create leading edge opportunities for their benefit. S/he is able to work well with faculty, staff, students, administrators, and external constituencies; and has a commitment to diversity, collegiality, and shared governance.

Preferred qualifications: Demonstrated ability and experiences in research, departmental, or college administration/management and leadership is highly desirable.
