Professor of Chemical Engineering

The Department of Chemical Engineering at Penn State (http://www.che.psu.edu) invites applications for a tenured faculty position in catalytic science and technology. We seek an established scholar in the field who can provide leadership and vision for growing catalysis research at Penn State as Professor of Chemical Engineering and Director of a newly formed Center for Advanced Catalytic Science. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering or a related field at the time of starting the position and a strong record of scholarly achievement. The successful candidate will assume a key role in interdisciplinary research collaborations and engagement with Penn State's Institutes of Energy and the Environment (IEE), http://www.iee.psu.edu/ and its Materials Research Institute (MRI), https://www.mri.psu.edu/. The University Park campus has superb facilities for experimental and computational research in catalysis. The Materials Characterization Laboratory, https://www.mri.psu.edu/materials-characterization-lab, supports synthesis and catalytic testing and has world-class in-situ microscopy and spectroscopy facilities. The Institute for Cyberscience has extensive high-performance computing facilities. The director of the Center for Advanced Catalytic Science will lead the development of the center through the recruitment of new faculty in targeted disciplines of catalysis.
