Job Description

Teacher Assistant:

Responsible for assisting the Special Education Teacher with the implementation of Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) for each student in the classroom, as well as working with related services staff. Responsibilities might include:


  • Attend transdisciplinary team meetings and other pertinent meetings relevant to implementing students' IEP and attend in-service trainings



  • Following daily classroom schedules and specific programs for group and individual activities for each student as directed by Special Education Teacher.



  • Assist with organization and maintenance of classroom and therapeutic supplies and equipment



  • Communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.



  • Share in teaching in the classroom setting



  • Observation in classroom settings covering ages 3-21.



  • Development of curriculum materials.



  • Supports the mission of the Boston College Campus School.

Bachelor's Degree in education or related field and experience working with students with multiple disabilities preferred.
