The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta invites applications to a tenure-track or tenured position with expertise in energy geotechnics research. The Faculty will consider an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor appointment. The successful candidate will be joining a vibrant, multidisciplinary community of researchers and will collaborate with the Reservoir Geomechanics Research Group and contribute to the ongoing growth of our GeoInnovation Environments: GeoREF (high temperature/pressure experimental lab), GeoCERF (beam centrifuge research facility), GeoPRINT(3D printing of rocks and fractures) and GeoRMT(reservoir geomechanical modeling platform). The successful candidate will demonstrate interests in and ability to develop a viable and productive research program, teach a broad selection of undergraduate and graduate civil engineering courses in person and online, supervise graduate students, and a commitment to be an active citizen within the University, the engineering profession, and the broader community.

Qualifications
Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering, or a closely related field
Eligible to become a licensed Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) within 5 years
Excellence, originality, and potential as evidenced by the impact and quality of their scientific, teaching, and service contributions. Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
o Publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals, books, and conference proceedings
o Teaching experience and skills as indicated by course and workshop teaching, peer feedback, and student evaluations
o A demonstrated record of service at the departmental, institutional, national, and/or international levels
