Description
The School of Engineering at the University of Mount Union invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor rank to begin August 1, 2021. We seek an educator-scholar with emphasis in design and manufacturing. The School of Engineering currently offers ABET-accredited programs in civil and mechanical engineering. Newly created programs in biomedical engineering, computer engineering, and electrical engineering will seek ABET accreditation after graduating their first classes in 2022.

Responsibilities
Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate engineering education in a liberal arts setting. Industrial experience is highly desirable. Primary responsibilities include developing the engineering design curriculum, teaching capstone design, CAD, and manufacturing, and participating in the ABET accreditation process. Willingness and flexibility to teach both a variety of mechanical engineering including introductory engineering and general education courses is desired. Additional responsibilities include advising mechanical engineering students, industrial outreach leading to student internship and employment opportunities, engaging in professional development and scholarly activities, and participation in faculty governance. The School is interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity in higher education through their teaching, research, and service. Qualifications
Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or a closely related field. A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
