Position Description:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is the leading technical authority regarding the development of scientific instruments for spaceflight and ground-based magnetic measurement within the Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences magnetometer engineering team. This position oversees mechanical design, analysis, and fabrication for high-precision magnetic sensing instruments and acts as a subject matter expert, not only on the deployment of existing technologies, but in the shaping of new technical approaches at UCLA. Incumbent will work closely with other disciplines including systems engineering, electrical engineering, technicians, laboratory staff, and external partner organizations.
