POSITION SPECIFICS

Researcher / Assistant Research Professor/ Associate Research Professor

The Center of Excellence in Directed Energy (CEDE) at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a highly qualified individual for a non-tenure-line position at the rank of Researcher or Assistant/Associate Research Professor. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating projects and managing lab facilities within CEDE.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the position will be assisting cutting-edge research programs, including electromagnetic and mechanical simulations, managing and setting up fabrication and measurement equipment, as well as the preparation of reports for relevant sponsored contracts. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in funded projects.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

Coordinate projects and manage the production lab
Assist in proposal writing
Prepare project reports
Oversee and manage projects
Develop and implement project timelines, as well as ensure deliverables, deadlines, goals, and objectives of projects are met

Requirements and Qualifications:
Candidates will be considered for the rank commensurate with their education and experience in accordance with AC21.

A successful candidate at the Assistant Research Professor or Associate Research Professor rank will hold a terminal degree or its equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field by the appointment date. Candidates without an MS who are active candidates for a terminal degree will be considered at the Researcher rank. In addition, they must have working knowledge of SolidWorks and be proficient in the creation and critical review of engineering drawings, tolerancing, and tolerance analysis. United States Citizenship is required. Industrial experience is preferred.
