The Department of Engineering Management and Technology (EMT) at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor Level beginning August 1, 2020. The successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics engineering or a closely related field from an ABET accredited program giving him/her the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses across the engineering curriculum related to the field of mechatronics. The mechatronics degree program at UTC is designed to serve the needs of the automation industry and advanced manufacturing. Individuals with industrial experience with automation systems are highly encouraged to apply. Applicants who are "all but dissertation" (ABD) will be considered for faculty positions at UTC; however, the degree must be awarded within twelve months of the first semester of employment. Applicants should be willing to engage in a variety of instructional modalities, including online instruction, and a commitment to undergraduate and graduate students in research. This position also requires establishing working relationships with local industries for education, training, and research activities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to motivate and inspire students are desired, along with the ability to develop a nationally and internationally recognized and funded research program.

The EMT Department, as part of the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS), offers an ABET-ETAC accredited B.S. degree in Engineering Technology Management, B.A.S degree in Mechatronics, and an M.S. degree in Engineering Management.
