**This is a University Staff position.** The Associate Dean for the College of Business (COB) is an administrative position that reports directly to the Dean. Working with the Dean, college faculty and staff, the Associate Dean provides leadership for the internal instructional and facility operations of the college. The Associate Dean supports the work of the Dean, including acting on behalf of the Dean. This position oversees strategic planning, curriculum management, oversight of all faculty, policy development, resolution of student issues, and maintenance of specialized accreditation (e.g. AACSB, PGA). Other duties as assigned.

  • Works closely with the Dean and Team Leads to manage the operations of an AACSB accredited college.
  • Establishes and maintains effective and collaborative working relationships in the college.
  • Works with COB Advisors in Student Success, UCCS Dean of Students, UCCS Admissions Office, and UCCS Graduate School.
  • Serves on COB and campus committees including but not limited to Executive Committee, undergraduate and graduate curriculum committees, Associate Dean's Council, and Council on Undergraduate Education.
  • Engages with faculty through meetings, faculty dialogues, and is responsible for faculty assignment to college and university committees.
  • Monitors faculty qualifications in accordance with AACSB criteria and college policies.
  • Oversees the following personnel matters in consultation with the Dean and Team Leads:
    • Annual performance evaluations for tenure track and IRC faculty.
    • Faculty workload determinations.
  • Provides strategic direction and supervision of assigned staff.
  • Provides strategic direction and supervision of faculty program directors.
  • Leads college technology and physical resource management.
Oversees academic programs by directing and developing the undergraduate and graduate programs in accordance with AACSB standards to provide students with quality education. (30%)
    • Collaborates with the faculty, curriculum committees, and Team Leads in the analysis, development and evaluation of courses, curricula, and programs.
    • Assists with resolution of student issues such as suspensions, advising, Code of Conduct/Academic Misconduct infractions, ethics, and policies/procedures
    Assists in strategic planning for the college and ensures appropriate policies are in place for implementing the strategic plan. (20%)
    • Participates in strategic planning; establishes and reviews operating priorities; develops goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
    • Directs the Assistant Dean for Internal Operations in coordination and implementation of assessment plans.
    • Monitors compliance with AACSB International standards and reporting requirements.
    Oversees academic research to ensure high levels of academic success. (10%)
    • Oversees research incentives and rewards.
    • Works with COB research council to elevate the research culture of the college.

    Work Location: This position is expected to work on campus, but can work partially remote. Exact schedule to be determined with the supervisor. This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). What We Offer: Salary Range: $123,514 - $175,000 per calendar year. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.     Tentative Search Timeline:

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • An earned doctorate in business or related discipline.
    • At least one academic year of administrative experience in higher education at the department chair level or higher.
    • A record of teaching, scholarship and service excellence, sufficient to qualify for the rank of Associate Professor in the College of Business.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with AACSB accreditation.
    • Experience with assessment (assurance of learning).
    • Experience teaching or administering online, hybrid/blended, or other non-traditional course delivery formats.
