Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The Department of Software Engineering and Game Development (SWEGD) represents fields at the forefront of high-impact developments. We take pride in our student-centered degree and certificate programs, which are enhanced by state-of-the-art instructional technology and applied research activities. The distinctions of our programs include high quality and accessibility to both traditional and non-traditional students. The Department is physically located in the Atrium Building on the Marietta Campus.

For undergraduates, we offer a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Game Development. We offer a Minor in Software Engineering and a Minor in Computer Game Development as well. The Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Game Development is accredited under the general criteria of ABET (www. abet.org). Our graduate programs include a Master of Science degree in Software Engineering (can be taken fully online) and Graduate Certificates in Software Engineering Foundations and Software Engineering.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in the Department of Software Engineering & Game Development for the academic year 2023-2024. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
  • The department is creating a pool of applicants in anticipation of future openings for part-time faculty to teach courses related to computing, software engineering, or computer game design and development.
  • Other responsibilities may include:
    • Student advising and supervision
    • Working with a diverse community of students and faculty

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

To teach undergraduate courses:
  • A Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a discipline related to computer science, software engineering, game development or a closely related discipline is required.

To teach graduate courses:
  • A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in computer science, software engineering, game development or a related discipline is required.


Preferred Qualifications

A history of industry/business experience and/or a record of past teaching at an undergraduate level.
